Ingredients for Healthy Pizza Sauce

  • Tomatoes, boiled and crushed
  • 1 teaspoon honey or sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic
  • 1 teaspoon oregano, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon basil, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil or any healthy oil

Directions for Pizza Sauce

  1. In a saucepan, pour oil and let it heat for a few minutes before adding in the minced garlic. Let fry on low heat for a few seconds until garlic changes color and releases aroma.
  2. Separately in a large pan, add water till the pan is three quarters full. Let the water boil.
  3. Once the water starts boiling, add in about a kilogram of good quality, ripened tomatoes. Let the tomatoes boil till they are softened.
  4. Once tomatoes are done, remove them and add them to a bowl of cold, icy water. This will allow the peel on the fruit to slide off easily.
  5. Let the tomatoes cool down.
  6. Slice and de-seed the tomatoes.
  7. Once de-seeded, using both of your hands, squeeze the tomatoes till they turn into a mush. Keep squeezing and breaking the tomatoes apart till they have almost turned to puree.
  8. Add this tomato mixture to the saucepan holding garlic and olive oil.
  9. Over low heat, continue cooking till the sauce is thickened and forms a paste like consistency.
  10. Add in sugar and allow it to melt.
  11. Add in the seasonings and mix well.
  12. Set aside.

Ingredients for Healthy Pizza Crust

  • 15 tablespoons of Self Rising Flour
  • 8 Ounces of Plain Greek Yogurt
  • Any seasoning as per taste

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the two ingredients and mix until they form a soft dough.
  2. Roll out the dough to form a crust, thickness depending on your preference.
  3. Let your oven Preheat at 180 degrees for 15 minutes.
  4. Take a baking pan or pizza pan and grease it lightly before transferring the pizza crust to the pan.
  5. Spread your favorite pizza sauce on the crust and add your favorite toppings such as cheese, olives, chilis, pineapples, grilled chicken, pickles and so on.
  6. Place the pizza in the oven for 12 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and the crust is golden brown.
  7. Enjoy!
