Over a quarter of the people in the United States lead mostly sedentary lifestyles, and roughly half of all adults are actually getting the recommended amount of exercise every week. If you are one of the many people who are mostly inactive, you might be doing some harm to your body, especially if you go for longer stretches of time being inactive. It’s time to change your game so that you can start doing great things for your entire body, as well as your mind.

If that is still too much for you right now, you might even try doing anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour of an exercise routine that’s moderate in intensity, and you can do this just one or two times each week. And, if that’s still too much, you can even do just 10 minutes of a lower intensity exercise a few times per week, as a study discovered that even doing that can support body and mind.

One of the ways that you can ensure you will be motivated to get in your workouts every week is by choosing exercises that you enjoy doing. If you love brisk walks around town, go with that. If you prefer working out in a social setting, such as in a class at the gym, that’s great, too. Or, if you prefer working out in the privacy of your own home, there are loads of exercises that you can do there as well. The key is to find something that you enjoy so you can do it with enough consistency, as that’s the most important part of any exercise routine.
