However, when consumer demand won, some fast food chains started serving breakfast all day long. Shake Shack’s sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich has a whopping 480 calories, along with 29 grams of fat and 1440 mg of sodium! Yikes! Social Media Driven Desserts

Remember Starbucks’ famous Unicorn Frappuccino? Who doesn’t?! It made serious waves on the internet when it was released, and social media was abuzz with people posting photos of this colorful and super sweet drink. It’s all part of a trend of fast food chains using social media to spread the word about their offerings. That said, this is yet another one of the worst fast food trends for your waistline and overall health.

Here’s why: the Unicorn Frappuccino contained 401 calories and 59 grams of sugar if you ordered it in the grande size. Not good! Therefore, if you come across a fast food item that everyone seems to be talking about online, it’s probably not the best thing for you if you’re sticking to a healthy diet.

Queso Everywhere

Queso (a.k.a. cheese) also became popular recently, with more and more fast food chains offering it on their menus. Wendy’s offered a Queso Burger covered in—you guessed it—queso, but just one burger contained an unhealthy 550 calories! Furthermore, Chipotle, which tries to be known for offering healthier options, added queso dip to the menu as well. Bottom line: loaded with calories and fat, it’s best to leave queso off your order.
